Former Councilman Charged with Malicious Wounding Following Shooting

UPDATE 04/27/19 @ 10:30 p.m.

According to the Huntington Police Department, Tom McCallister, 78 of Huntington was charged with malicious wounding following a shooting Saturday.

At 4:10 p.m. Cabell County 911 received calls alledging a shooting.

When officers arrived to the scene they found Ronald McDowell, 38 with a gunshot wound, he was transported to the hospital and is being treated. 

From information gathered during the investigation, HPD believes the hooting stemmed from an argument between McCallister and McDowell. 

McCallister is a former Huntington mayoral candidate and a former council member.

The investigation is ongoing.

One person has been injured after a shooting in Cabell County.

The shooting has took place on the 400 block of West 3rd Street in Huntington just after 4 p.m. 

The shooting involved multiple people, but little details have been released.
