HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – The Huntington Fire Department is about to roll out a new green fire truck
Bryan Chambers, the Communications Director for the City of Huntington, says the Fire Department personnel traveled out of town on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019, to inspect the new fire engine to make sure it met specifications. It will be housed at University Station No. 2, located at 6th Avenue and 20th Street, upon delivery.
Chambers says they anticipate it will be in service by the end of June.
Huntington Fire Department personnel are working with Marshall University on logos for the new truck.
The total cost of the new fire engine will be approximately $525,000 after outfitting it with the necessary equipment.
