Local coffee shop to give patrons a new appreciation, understanding of coffee

Local News

Monday morning brought a new cafe to the city of Ironton, and it promises to bring its patrons a deeper understanding for coffee.

While Ironton does have many options for residents to get breakfast and lunch, the Iron Town Coffee Lab is the only place in Ironton you’ll be able to get a locally roasted and brewed cup of Joe.

Richard Fisher is the life-long Ironton resident that owns the Iron Town Coffee Lab.

He tells 13 News he’s very passionate about coffee and its many blends.

It’s his love for coffee that got the ball rolling on opening up the brand new cafe.

Fisher’s love for coffee began at an early age, when he and his father would drink a hot cup of Joe every morning before school.

“Coffee is so important to people’s daily activities that it needs to be local, it needs to be accessible,” Fisher said. “[People in Ironton grow] frustrated by having to drive out of town to get [coffee]. We’re gonna bring the whole coffee experience to Ironton.”

Fisher says he hopes people will be able to enjoy the new local spot while appreciating the many other things Ironton has to offer.

The hidden gem promises to bring a big city taste to a small town like Ironton.
