Multiple people have overdosed at a local detention center in our region, resulting in the death of a local man.
According to a release, the Boyd County Coroner’s Office responded to King’s Daughters Medical Center Sunday for a deceased man.
The Coroner’s Office determined that several people overdosed at the Boyd County Detention Center, one of which was killed from what is currently believed to be an overdose of fentanyl according to the Coroner’s Office.
The man killed has been identified as 36-year-old Charles Finley of Ashland.
One other inmate was treated and released from the hospital.
This investigation is ongoing with the Kentucky State Police.
