A local event that originiated in Charleston aimed at inspiring young women made it’s way to Huntington Saturday.
The Fairy Boss Mother’s Ball first took place in Charleston earlier this year. The original event was such a success, that organizer, Leeshia Lee, decided to take it to Huntington.
Lee says the idea is to party with a purpose.
“I invited strong, local women with careers and success stories,” said Watson. “They are like fairy boss mothers.”
A fairy boss mother — think of it as a twist on the fairytale classic.
“Sometimes kids from low income or single family homes don’t have the motivation or the role models that they need,” said Lee.
She added, “So for them to come out and mingle and network with these women… its the chance of a lifetime to show them that their dreams are possible.”
The group of boss mothers consisted of notable doctors, active military members, social workers, and teachers.
