Lockdowns lifted, Cabell County student detained

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) – The lockdowns at Cabell Midland High School and Ona Elementary have been lifted after the Cabell County Sheriffs Office detained a student.

Jedd Flowers, the Director of Communications for Cabell County School, says that the lockdown was issued around 12:45 PM on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019.

According to Flowers, there are not threats inside the school, all students must remain inside, and the doors have been locked. 

Cabell County deputies were searching for a student who might be connected to the student who was arrested yesterday for making a threat on social media Tuesday afternoon referencing Cabell Midland High School.

Deputies say the student arrested yesterday is still in custody.

The second student has been found and detianed.
