Man Arrested Accused of Stabbing Victim with Electric Razor

Charleston Police have arrested a man following a stabbing at a men’s shelter.

According to Charleston Police, 31-year-old Derek Rankin is charged with malicious wounding after officers responded to a stabbing call around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Officers responded to the stabbing at the Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center on the 500 block of Leon Sullivan Way.

Charleston Police say Rankin used a corded electric razor in a whip-type fashion against 45-year-old Gerry Miller.

Miller was transported to the hospital with an injury to his wrist.
