Man Arrested for Shooting Brother in Kanawha County

UPDATE (7/23/18 9:45 AM):

An Eskdale man has been arrested on multiple charges after deputies say he called 911 to report shooting his brother.

Mark Allen Auber II, 32, of Eskdale, WV, has been charged with malicious wounding, a felony, and domestic battery, a misdemeanor. 

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018, Mark Allen Auber called 911 to report shooting his brother, Michael Anthony Auber. 

According to deputies, the two were arguing outside a house when Mark said he was acting in self-defense and shot Michael twice, then kicked him as he lay on the ground.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment to gunshot wounds in a leg and his left arm.  The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.  No update on his condition is yet available this morning. 

The shooter was interviewed by detectives and charged late last night.

One person is injured, and another in custody following a shooting in eastern Kanawha County.

The shooting was reported on Sandy Lane in the Eskdale area of eastern Kanawha County just after 7:30 p.m.

Dispatchers say one person is in custody as a result of the shooting.

Reports from dispatch indicate that a man shot his brother. 

They also say that they did not know the victim’s injuries other than they are non-life threatening.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police are responding to the scene.

We have a crew headed to the scene and will provide the latest as those details become available.
