Man Arrested in Cross Lanes Home Invasion & Shooting

CROSS LANES, WV (WOWK) –

UPDATE (1/23/19 4 PM):

A man has been arrested and charged after yesterday morning’s home invasion and shooting incident in Cross Lanes.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says,  Maurico Adam Govea, 30, of Saint Albans, WV was arrested on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019, by Saint Albans Police Department when he met with one of their officers to be apprehended.

Deputies say Govea was charged with burglary, malicious wounding, and armed robbery in connection with the incident in Cross Lanes.

Govea has been arraigned and remanded to South Central Regional Jail in lieu of bond.

Police are investigating a shooting in Cross Lanes.

Kanawha County dispatch tells us one person was shot in the 5300 block of Dalewood Drive. 

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office tells us the victim was shot in the head, but the injury is not life-threatening.

No word on their condition at the time.

The suspect is on the run.

Dispatchers tell us he is white, with a scruffy goatee, dressed in all black and driving a red two-door car.
