Man Charged with DUI after bus hit in multi-vehicle crash

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) – A Kanawha County school bus was hit in a multi-vehicle crash involving a driver accused of a DUI on Maccorkle Avenue.

There were four vehicles involved in the crash. Charleston Police say the driver that caused accident hit the car in front of him, which hit another car which hit the school bus.

The crash happened where Macckorle Avenue meets Route 119.

The driver that police allege caused the accident is accused of DUI and fled the scene in their truck. Police say they tried to hide in a bathroom at Enterprise, but he was apprehended by police.

The bus had one student, but they were not injured.

The driver of one of the middle cars and the passenger of the driver accused of DUI were taken to the hospital.

The driver, Franklin Carrol Jr., 27,  has been arrested and charged with DUI.
