KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) – A Milton man is in custody after a pursuit that went on the interstate through multiple counties ended in a crash.
Witness say the brown Ford F250 being driven in the pursuit barely missed them on the interstate
The pursuit ended in a crash at Meyers Avenue and 10th Street in Dunbar, West Virginia.
The pursuit started after State Parole officers put out a BOLO for a Parole Violator, Alex Foster, 25 of Milton, West Virginia.
Milton Police spotted Foster on Newman’s Branch Road and as they attempted to stop Foster, he took off at high speed, eventually getting onto I-64 Eastbound.
The pursuit carried into Putnam and then Kanawha counties.
Multiple agencies joined in the attempt to stop Foster who they say resorted to intentionally hitting vehicles on the interstate.
According to police, Foster hit several other cars, injuring several people before being apprehended while trying to hijack a vehicle from an elderly driver.
Foster was apprehended by units on scene and taken into custody by State Parole officers who deposited him in the Western Regional Jail pending arraignment on a variety of charges in three counties.
Milton Police say they will be filling a felony charge of Fleeing in a vehicle with reckless disregard in the next few days.
West Virginia State Police, the Dunbar Police Department, the Milton Police Department, and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office all responded.
