Mingo County Mom Dies After DUI Crash in Pike County, KY

Kentucky State Police says a mother from Mingo County, West Virginia has died after her vehicle was hit by a woman charged with a DUI in Pike County, KY.

According to Kentucky State Police, Miranda Ailiff, 25, of Belfry, KY has been charged with operator’s License to be in possession, no insurance, and Driving Under the Influence.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the fatal collision that occurred on US 119 in South Williamson at around 6:30 PM on Sunday, August 5th, 2018.

Upon arrival, Troopers say they found a vehicle driven by Ailiff had crossed the median and struck another vehicle operated by Amy White from Crum, West Virginia.

Ailiff was the only person in her vehicle. White’s vehicle had two passengers, her husband and her 14-year-old child.

As a result of the crash White was pronounced deceased at the scene, her husband and child were transported to the hospital and later released. 

Ailiff was charged at the scene, and as the investigation continues other charges may be made in the case.
