Kanawha County shooting victim in stable condition, police search for two male suspects

UPDATE, May 17, 10 a.m.: According to Charleston Police Department Lt. Tony L. Hazelett, CPD responded to the area at approximately 9:25 p.m., Saturday, May 16.

Once on scene, officers located the victim, Dante Williams, 23, of Charleston, with a gunshot wound. Medical officials transported the man to an area hospital. According to police, Williams is currently in stable condition.

The victim was interviewed and was uncooperative with investigators, Hazelett says.

According to witnesses, two men fled the area on foot heading towards 7th Avenue. Anyone with information should contact Metro Communications at 304-348-8111 or the Charleston Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 304-348-6480.

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – One man was shot in the head and the suspect is on the run, according to Charleston Police.

The shooting happened in the 100th block of Dooley Lane on Charleston’s West Side.

Police say the nature of this incident is unclear at this time. The victim was taken to the hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.

Charleston Fire, Charleston Police, and Kanawha County EMS responded to the scene which is still active.
