Pig Pig: Where is He Now?

Local News

HURRICANE, WV (WOWK) – PigPig of Saint Albans is finally off the streets and in a new home with his new loving family.

You may remember PigPig from the summer where he was spotted running across a four-lane highway in Saint Albans or snacking on treats in yards. For weeks people would post sightings to his PigPig of St. Albans Facebook page in hopes of helping rescuers get their hands on the black pot belly.

After weeks on the run, he was finally captured by a team of rescuers and sent to the vet for a full checkup. The young pig is now spoiled in his new home with mom, Misty Burdette, and his new (human and pig) brothers and sisters.

“He is amazing, he has such a great personality and look at his little tail it is always going,” Burdette says as PigPig wags his tail at her feet.

The PigPig fans still want to know what the sweet swine is up to, so Burdette and another rescuer, Shane Snyder, have agreed to give the people what they want and keep the page up to date.

PigPig will also start making public appearances and the money raised at the events will go to different rescues.

His first step back into the spotlight will be on December first at the Saint Albans Christmas Parade. The pig will ride on his own float and then head over to the first ever PigPig Fest at the Coal River Coffee Company.

Burdette said she is so thankful to the residents of Saint Albans who looked out for PigPig before he was rescued.

“If I could say anything…I have never been more proud of a town,”  she says.
