Pint Sized Philanthropist Asks Hollywood Star to Ronald McDonald House Event

Local News

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – As the Ronald McDonald House prepares to light up the night at their annual McGala event, they have their sights set on Hollywood with the help of a local pint-sized philanthropist.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia will “Light Up the Night” during this year’s McGala. The annual affair is scheduled for March 2, 2019, at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences.

Stacy Wright, the Senior Director of Development at the Ronald McDonald House, said this event is the organizations biggest fundraiser of the year, with 100 percent of the proceeds going back to house.

This year they are hoping to get some help from Hollywood thanks to a pint sized philanthropist named Collin Pates.

In a video produced by Filmanatix, the 10 year-old is looking for a date to the McGala — and he has his sights set on Hollywood superstar and West Virginia sweetheart, Jennifer Garner.

Collin told 13 News he would be a great date because he is a good dancer. He said Garner should come because he would be the “perfect” date and it’s for a great cause.

We attempted to reach out to Jennifer Garner’s people but have yet to get a response. It is unclear whether she has seen the video or not.
