Police pursuit through Nitro ends in crash

NITRO, WV (WOWK) – Nitro Police were lead on a pursuit that ended in a crash after they responded to a call about a forged check.

Employees of Peoples Federal Credit Union in Nitro called police after becoming suspicious that a woman was trying to cash a forged check.

When police responded to the call, the woman took off in a white pickup truck.

Officers say she led them on a pursuit followed through Nitro that ended when the truck crashed near the Pilot Truck Stop.

There was both a man and a woman in the truck.

The pair was transported with minor injuries.

For now, they are just being charged with fleeing, but police stated the forged check incident is still under investigation.
