Pratt VFD Thanks Hundreds While Remembering Two

Local News

It’s been a little over three months since the Pratt Fire Department lost Assistant Fire Chief Michael Edwards and Lt. Tom Craigo, the entire community felt the loss.

“They are not forgotten… When I’m on a truck it’s different not to have them there but even though they are still there in spirit, in our hearts,” said David Cales, Pratt Fire Department.

It would be the community that would get everyone through the tough time and now the Fire Department wants to say thank you.

“It’s been the biggest part of the healing, it’s one thing to have your family but when you have others coming in and even people you haven’t seen in years, or people who just moved here come in and it just automatically solidifies that small town kinship you can’t find anywhere else,” said Amy Berry.

Saturday from 1-6 p.m. the department is welcoming anyone and everyone out for snacks, prizes and fun. They’re even giving people a chance to ride on their truck.

“I think our two that we lost would be happy and proud and excited about what we’re doing,” said Cales.
