Sissonville High School Will Be Closed Until Next Friday

SISSONVILLE, WV (WOWK) – Kanawha County Schools says that Sissonville High School will remain closed until next Friday.

Kanawha County Schools says they were informed today, January 24th, 2019,  that it will take several business days to receive the needed parts to fix the electrical panel at the school.

They asked for the parts to be expedited, however, their best estimate at this time is that the parts will arrive on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019.

KCS say maintenance will repair and check all systems on Thursday, January 31st, 2019, and school will resume next Friday February 1st, 2019.

KCS says teachers and staff will continue to use Schoology as a communication tool and students should be logging in regularly to check for announcements or assignments. 

According to KCS, coaches or extra-curricular leaders will communicate with students about special arrangements for student activities.

KCS says teachers will work to get students caught up on all work and standards.

There will be another announcement next week when the school is prepared to reopen.

Staff do not need to report.
