Local News

It’s called “Sound the Alarm” and it is aimed at putting smoke detectors in homes that don’t have them.

The American Red Cross is joining with local fire departments, as well as volunteers, with a goal of installing 100,000 free fire alarms across the country this year.

In West Virginia, the cities of South Charleston, Parkersburg, and Princeton are being targeted.

If you are interested in getting a free smoke alarm and installation, you can visit the sound the alarm website here.
