HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — A decades-long tradition has returned to the Tri-State.
It is strawberry pie week at Jim’s Spaghetti.
The pie is being sold for $4.55 per slice.
The tradition dates back more than 30 years and always happens right after Mother’s Day.
Staff members at Jim’s Spaghetti tell 13 News they use an average of 80 flats of strawberries per day.
Jim’s Spaghetti sold 380 pies on Tuesday and they expect that number to go up on Wednesday.
Some people we spoke with say would be trying the pie for the very first time.
“I’m expecting it to be really good,” said Brooke Anderson, a junior in high school.
Anderson also told us that some high school students may have skipped school just to try the pie.
“We just heard that it’s really good,” said Kenzie Johnson, a senior. “Everybody talks about it at school, they’re all missing school to come [and try it].”
Before they left, Johnson and Anderson told 13 News they enjoyed their slices of strawberry pie.
