Suspect Arrested In Connection with Charleston Carjacking

UPDATE(1/19/19): Charleston Police say Anthony Clapham has been arrested. According to police, Clapham forced a women out of her car then stole the car outside of Women’s and Children’s Hospital Friday evening. Clapham is facing 1st degree robbery charges for the incident.


UPDATE (1/19/19): The Charleston Police department is asking for your help in locating a man wanted in connection with Friday’s carjacking in Charleston. 

Police say 25-year-old Anthony Dashawn Clapham forced a women out of her car then stole the car outside of Women’s and Children’s Hospital Friday evening. Clapham is facing 1st degree robbery charges for the incident. Anyone with information regarding Chapman’s location is asked to contact CPD at 304-348-8111.


ORIGINAL (1/18/19): The Charleston Police Department is asking for your help in identifying a man wanted for a carjacking that happened Friday evening. 

It happened just after 7 pm outside of Women’s and Children’s Hospital located on Pennsylvania Avenue in Charleston.

Officials say the female victim was forced out of her vehicle and threatened with physical harm by the suspect. However, the victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a light complected black male wearing a short sleeve black shirt and khaki cargo pants with his hair in a bun style.  He fled in the scene in a 2017 silver Audi TT Quattro (WV registration O3P938).

Anyone with information about the incident, suspect, or location of the stolen vehicle is asked to call the Charleston Police Department at 304-348-8111.
