MCARTHUR, OH (WOWK)- For as long as Loretta Saylor could remember Vinton County was a thriving community, but for almost five years she’s seen her county be deemed a food desert and had to make a day out of grocery shopping.
“it would take us 2 to 4 hours to get our groceries in,” Saylor said.
Saylor said her and her family would have drive to neighboring counties for groceries and other house hold necessities, which was nearly an hour away from their home… but now Campbells Market has saved her those troubles, making her grocery trip less than 10 minutes.
“So now i can think oh well if i miss something i can run over and get it in town,” Saylor added.
Not only is Campbell Market bringing the town some much needed convenience, but it is bringing revenue back into the county.which really excites Saylor and her community.”its a big boost for vinton county,” Saylor.
The market has been open for one week now and members of the community are happy, relieved .. and now eager to grocery shop.
