Woman Arrested After Fatal Sissonville Stabbing

SISSONVILLE, WV (WOWK) – A woman has been arrested for fatally stabbing another woman in the back in Sissonville this morning.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, Cheryl Fisher, 57, of Charleston, WV was stabbed outside The Tobacco Shop on Sissonville Drive before Noon on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018. Deputies say Fisher was stabbed in the back during a brief argument, then got into her car and drove off.  

Deputies say Fisher then went to the Sissonville Health Center and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Charleston.  She died of her injuries a short time later.

Video of the incident was reviewed by deputies providing a lead on a suspect. 

The suspect, Cynthia Gatewood, 30, of Nitro, WV, was located at the Family Dollar store.  She is now under arrest by detectives with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
