9-year-old Shelby Cassidy had not one but two bikes stolen from her home in St. Albans this summer. Now thanks to the kindness of a random stranger, Shelby has a brand new bike and a new, life-long friend.
Mike Smith says he first heard of Shelby’s story on 13 News.
“At about three o’clock in the morning, I woke up and was still thinking about that story,” said Smith. “I saw how sad she was.”
Smith was so touched by the story, he new he had to help. On Wednesday, Smith surprised Shelby with a brand new bike. The new bike is purple which happens to be Shelby’s favorite color.
“Mr. Smith is so kind and so sweet,” said Shelby.
Smith added, “Kids don’t forget this stuff. When they are upset, they are real. I just wanted to ry an erase a bad memory and replace it with a good one.”
