WV Woman Holds Burglar at Gunpoint until Deputies Arrive

CORINNE, WV (WVNS) – It was a bad day for one burglar in the Mountain State.

Wyoming County.  Deputies were called to a home in Corinne, WV after a homeowner told dispatchers she was holding a man who broke into her home at gunpoint.

Investigators came to the house at around 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

They found the suspect, Jeffery Lee Reece, lying on the floor.  The victim told deputies Reece came through her front door and stole a trail camera.

Deputies found the camera in Reece’s possession. He also confessed to breaking into the home at least twice before.  He was arrested and charged with Daytime Burglary and Petit Larceny.  More charges are expected to be filed in the case.   

Reece was taken to the Southern Regional Jail.  He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
