WVSU gives back to community on annual day of caring

Local News

CHARLESTON, W. Va. (WOWK) —

Saturday, West Virginia State University hosted it’s 7th annual WVSU Cares Day.

The day brings together Yellow Jacket students, faculty, staff and alumni for a one-of-a-kind service opportunity to give back to the community of Institute, and in Kanawha and Putnam counties.

Throughout the day, those participating help complete many projects across the area — from outdoor clean-up and working with youth, to literacy education and serving meals to those in need.

WVSU Cares Day is West Virginia State University’s largest community service event.
