Man charged with malicious wounding after hitting woman in the head with guitar

CLEAR FORK, W. Va. (WVNS) — A man accused of hitting a woman in the head with a guitar is facing malicious wounding charges. 

Anthony Lee Johnson, 40-years-old from Matheny, was arrested on Thursday and is being held in the Southern Regional Jail. Lt. William Toler and Sgt. Shane White responded to a home on Clear Fork Road for a domestic violence call. 

At the home, deputies found a woman with a swollen hand and cuts on the face. She told officers she got into an argument with Johnson and he hit her in the head with a guitar. Deputies said at the time of incident, Johnson was highly intoxicated. 

Johnson is being held on a $10,000 bond.
