New Software Promises Quicker Results in Primary Election

The primary election is right around the corner and when it finally arrives on May 8 results in West Virginia will be here in real time.

The new system that will be in use for the first time this election, will allow voters to look up election results as soon as they come in from counties across the state.

On The Secretary of State’s website you will be able to follow state races, as well as races in every county. Only nine counties won’t be able to update right away.

The software that is allowing all of this has been used in two different states (Georgia, Colorado) and is currently being tested by the Secretary of State’s staff.

The new software comes after Scytl Secure Electronic Voting won the bid for this year’s contract. The company operates world wide and according to the Secretary of State’s office is completely secure.
