WEST SALEM, Ohio (AP) – The State Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a pickup truck that crashed into the back of an Amish buggy in Ohio and then took off.

The patrol says the Saturday night crash on State Route 301 in northeastern Ohio’s Wayne County killed the horse and injured the 20-year-old man who was driving the buggy. The buggy driver was treated for his injuries at the scene.

Patrol officials say the vehicle they are seeking was a red or brown pickup truck with amber lights on the roof. The pickup continued south and left a trail of oil. Authorities also say it had damage to its right front from the crash.

Wayne County is roughly 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of Cleveland.
