Portsmouth man arrested for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WOWK) – Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announces that his 911 center received a call on Monday March 11, 2019 from a foster parent stating that a juvenile female foster child had run away. 

Captain John W. Murphy stated that during the ongoing investigation a detective received information on Thursday March 28, 2019 that the missing juvenile was at a house located on Furnace Creek in Minford Ohio. Deputies were dispatched to this location and were able to locate the juvenile. Murphy stated that the juvenile was taken to Adena medical center for treatment that resulted in a sexual assault kit being obtained and was sent to BCI&I in London Ohio for testing. 

Captain Murphy stated that the adult male suspect was located in Jackson County and with the assistance of the Jackson County Sheriff’s office was transported to the county line to meet with a detective that resulted in a statement along with a DNA sample being collected.  After the investigation was completed the case was presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury on Friday April 12, 2019 which resulted in an indictment warrant being issued.

Sheriff Marty V. Donini stated that the suspect turned himself in, and was arrested without incident at the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday April 18, 2019. Arrested was Dion P Gambill White of Portsmouth Oh, White has been charged with one count of unlawful sexual conduct involving a minor a felony of the 3rd degree. The suspect appeared in Scioto Common Pleas Court on Friday April 19, 2019, and was released after posting a $10,000.00 bond pending trial.
