UPDATE (Sunday, Sept. 10 at 4:00 p.m.) – A suspect is in custody and facing felony charges in connection to the shooting.
Jonathan Bradley Smith, 25, from St. Albans was arrested shortly after the incident and was charged with one count of felony malicious assault, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Smith allegedly told deputies that he shot the victim in the chest during an altercation at the Go Mart.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
If anyone has information or video footage of the surrounding area, the Sheriff’s Office is asking you to contact their department.
UPDATE (Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:33 p.m.) – According to Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, a man was shot and the extent of injuries is still unknown at this time.
A suspect has been detained.
ST. ALBANS, WV (WOWK) – One person was injured after a shooting in St. Albans, according to dispatchers.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. at Go Mart on the 200 block of West Main Street.
The extent of injuries and information about a suspect is still unknown at this time.
