Pedestrian killed in Kanawha County, driver arrested on unrelated offenses

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va (WOWK) – The identity of the victim killed after being struck by a car in Kanawha County has been released.

Charleston Police say Giles Lee Carter, 62, of Chappell Road was killed around 4 p.m. Monday on the 900 block of Chappell Road.

The driver of the striking vehicle, Charles Rogers, 57, of Charleston, was not charged with anything related to the crash, however, he was arrested for warrants from both Charleston Municipal Court and for warrants out of Logan County.

Those charges including driving on a revoked/suspended license, joyriding, and no insurance.

In addition, the vehicle driven was determined to have been stolen in 2016.
