UPDATE: Names released in officer involved shooting

UPDATE: One man is dead and a woman is injured after an officer involved shooting in Charleston, WV on Thursday.

It all began when officers responded to a domestic incident around 9 a.m. near Falcon Drive in Kanawha County. Two men on a motorcycle crashed into a West Virginia State Police cruiser, then fled the scene. A pursuit followed but was cut short due to heavy traffic. Officers from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, WVSP and Charleston Police Department went back to the original scene and found the two men.

One suspect, Eric Toon confronted Law Enforcement with a firearm and officers discharged their weapons, killing him. A woman suspect, Taylor Quinn was also shot and had non-life threatening injuries. A third suspect, Noah Sutherland was taken into custody.

WVSP and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office are now investigating the incident.



Kanawha County, W. Va. – (WOWK) West Virginia State Police have confirmed one person is dead and another injured after an officer-involved shooting in the Eden’s Fork area.

State police tell us this all began around 9 a.m. when troopers were investigating a reported domestic incident. During that investigation they say two men on a motorcycle crashed into a cruiser then took off. Troopers tried to chase them down, but called off the pursuit due to heavy traffic.

We’re told when police returned to the scene of the domestic incident they found those two men in the area. State police say one of those men approached them with a weapon and police opened fire.

That man was killed and a woman behind him was also wounded. She has been taken to the hospital, no word on her condition.

A third person, a man, was also taken into custody after the incident.

No police officers were injured in the shooting.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia State Police are both investigating.
