Portsmouth City Manager Fired for Allegedly Striking Employee

PORTSMOUTH, OH (WOWK) - The Portsmouth Ohio City Council has voted to fire City Manager Derek Allen amid accusations of him physically striking an employee on two separate occasions. 

The decision was made at last night's City Council meeting.

According to documents, Allen allegedly retaliated against an employee for reporting issues with the City Manager to the council. 

Allen is also accused of creating job positions and giving pay raises without approval.
