West Virginia Governor Jim Justice Says Resignation Rumors are Untrue

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - West Virginia Governor Jim Justice says the rumors that he has resigned are untrue.

He also says that Delegate Ralph Rodighiero (D-Logan) should "be ashamed."

Governor Justice also released the following statement:

"When is this silliness going to stop? I didn't sign up for this to just stop when it gets a little bit tough. I'm in this for the long haul. The rumors about me resigning are totally unfounded and without truth. The people that are circulating this information are being counterproductive. We need to stick to the truth and the important business at hand."

This comes just one day after he announced a plan with the union leadership to end a statewide teachers strike.

Many teachers were unhappy with the deal and continued to protest at the West Virginia State Capitol this morning.

We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
