Sheetz, a favorite pit stop of many West Virginians, was recently named as one of the ten “Best Regional Fast Food Chains” in the country, by USA Today’s 10Best.

USA Today’s used this criteria in creating the list: “These 10 regional fast food joints are so good they really should be nationwide, but unless you’re in the area, you’ll have to travel to get them.”

Sheetz, with nearly 60 West Virginia locations, was ranked fourth on the list behind Habit Burger, which is a California chain that has locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Maryland; Pal’s Sudden Service in Tennessee and Virginia; and Texas-based Whataburger, which many West Virginians are probably familiar with through commercials on Big 12 sports broadcasts.

Sheetz was the only convenience store on the list.

“First and foremost, thank you to our loyal fans and Sheetz freakz who voted us one of the best regional fast food chains in America,” said Ryan Sheetz, AVP of Brand at Sheetz. “Our goal is to give customers what they want, how they want it and when they want it, which is why we have an expansive menu of great-tasting, Made-to-Order® food and awesome specialty coffee drinks,” Sheetz said.

California-based In-N-Out Burger; Quaker Steak & Lube, which has two West Virginia locations; Cook Out, which also has two locations in West Virginia; southern chain Krystal; Wisconsin-based Culver’s, which can be found as close as Ohio; and Biscuitville, which is found in North Carolina and Virginia, round out the top ten.
