Soldier surprises his son during holiday concert

Scott Maples has been serving his country for 22 years. Tuesday night, he served up a big surprise.

Chief Warrant Officer Maples has been on deployment in Kuwait for the past 6 months and Tuesday night, he surprised his son, Michael Maples, a first-grade student at Williams Elementary in Huntsville, AL, during a holiday concert.

Maples got two weeks off to come home and when he arrived Tuesday night, he got off a plane, went to the concert, and was wrapped as a large Christmas present.

Michael was called to the stage and asked if he could open the big box that had been brought out for him. When he did, surprise!

There was his dad.
