UPDATE: Inmate apprehended after escaping along Route 50 in Harrison County

UPDATE (8/30/18 at 9:45 a.m.):

Robert Hoover, 36, who escaped from officers Tuesday evening along Route 50 in Harrison County, has been apprehended, according to Doddridge County deputies.


ORIGINAL (8/29/18):

Law enforcement in Harrison County is looking for an inmate who escaped the custody of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday evening.

Robert Hoover, 36, escaped from officers around 9:30 p.m. along Route 50 between the Sunnyside Road and Stone Valley Road intersections, according to the Doddridge County Sheriff’s Department.

Hoover stands 5’11”, weighs 180 pounds, and has blue eyes, according to police.

Police also said he was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, camo shorts, tennis shoes and in hand cuffs. 

At the end of the search, Hoover was seen headed east in the woods towards West Union. Deputies said he could be headed to the Preston County area.  

Anyone with any information on Hoover or his whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department at 304-624-8550 immediately.
