A taste of Broadway comes to a local high school stage this weekend thanks to two months of rehearsals by singers, musicians and stage hands.
Cabell Midland High School music and stagecraft students will perform Legally Blonde The Musical at the school this weekend and Monday.
More than two dozen performers will be on the stage singing and dancing along with a dozen musicians and almost a dozen dancers.
Timothy James who directs and choreographed the show says the cast has rehearsed for eight weeks and the musicians have rehearsed for the last three weeks to put on a top notch performance. The other music teachers at the school are also participating with Phillip Bailey leading the orchestra, Ed Harkless directing vocals and Ron Caviani the tech director and head of stagecraft students. All of the music and stagecraft students are a part of the Fine Arts Academy at Cabell Midland.
The show times are Saturday April 27 at 7 p.m., Sunday April 28 at 2 p.m., and two performances on Monday April 29 at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. at the Cabell Midland auditorium.
Admission for the show is $7 for adults and $3 for children.
