Governor Justice Meets with President Trump

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - West Virginia Governor Jim Justice is back in the mountain state today, one day after his meeting at the White House with President Donald Trump.

The Governor and the President discussed a plan within the Energy Department to keep a number of coal-fired power plants and nuclear plants in operation as a national security measure.

And there could be another surprise announcement soon.

"And that's basically the whole idea I presented to the president and everything. He's running with it. And if we can pull it off it will put thousands and thousands of miners, additional miners, to work. So we're working that. He may very well be visiting West Virginia pretty soon. You know but I can't say exactly but, don't be surprised if we see the President in West Virginia pretty soon," said Governor Justice

The Governor also lobbied President Trump about a plan to boost the timber industry in West Virginia.
