There has been a lot of talk about the date of West Virginia’s PGA Tour event changing next year. If you plan to be at America’s Resort on the 4th of July in 2019,  don’t expect to see any PGA pros on the course. A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier will be moved to later in the year.

While a date has still not been set, officials tell us the tournament at The Greenbrier will be the first in the fall. Officials are expecting that to be late September, or early October. The name of the tournament will remain the same, as A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, while officials are hoping to make the tournament bigger and better next year.

Executive Tournament Director, Habibi Mamone, said changing the date of the tournament should be positive.

“With us being the first for that wrap around season, you’re gonna see players eager wanting to get out there and play. So I think you’ll see some players that haven’t been able to come here, be able to be part of it,” Mamone said.

Mamone added a full time volunteer coordinator will be working to find plenty of help with the tournament being later in the year.
