UPDATE: Huntington shooting victim dies, suspect arrested and charged with murder

UPDATE (1:05 p.m. June 22, 2021)—According to Huntington Police, the victim of Monday’s shooting in the 800 block of 12th Street in Huntington died from his injuries.

The victim, 47-year-old Wendell L. Keith, of Huntington, was shot around 1:20 p.m. on Monday. 19-year-old Delron Thacker was arrested and charged with his murder.

Police say that the shooting resulted from a verbal disagreement between the two men and that they were familiar with each other.

UPDATE (5:25 p.m. June 21, 2021)—Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured in Huntington.

Cabell County dispatchers say a shooting was reported around 1:20 p.m. Monday, June 21 in the 800 block of 12th Street in Huntington.

The Huntington Police Department says when officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital for his injuries. Officers say with several other individuals who were possibly involved in the incident or who were potential witnesses were also at the scene.

Detectives are interviewing all of the individuals and forensic investigators are processing the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

HPD says the victim’s name will be releaced after the family has been notified.
