Now that the holidays are behind us, Kanawha County’s Metro 911 has released some very telling numbers.
From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, Metro officials said their dispatchers answered more than 36,000 calls.
Police, EMS, and fire crews responded to more than 6,000 calls between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.
Dispatchers said that they are releasing these numbers as a reminder for the public that emergency personnel are ready to respond at a moments notice, holidays or not.
They added, if you haven’t already, it’s a great time to thank a first responder for their sacrifices.
