Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority to open one Saturday each month on trial basis

West Virginia

The Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority at 600 Slack Street in Charleston will open from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month starting in January of 2019, according to a media release from the Kanawha County Commission.

The first three Saturday mornings in 2019 that the Solid Waste Authority will be open are January 12, February 9, and March 9.

This is being done on a trial basis, because of requests from the public for Saturday access for people who cannot get to the facility on Monday through Friday, the Commission said.

The Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority Board will evaluate the public response for the Saturday morning openings at their March, 2019 meeting and decide whether to continue the Saturday openings.
