UPDATE (1:07 p.m. on Friday, April 21): Two men were arrested Thursday night in connection to a robbery that took place on Bigley Ave. in Charleston, according to a criminal complaint.

The criminal complaint says 23-year-old Ignacio Smith, of Charleston, and 27-year-old Malik Moss, of Charleston, robbed three people at gunpoint and asked for their car keys and cell phones near the GoMart on Bigley Ave.

Witness statements and video surveillance from the GoMart showed Smith going to the back of their vehicle, getting a firearm and demanding the items, according to the criminal complaint.

The complaint says the victims were attempting to buy marijuana from Smith and Moss.

The victims told law enforcement that Moss and Smith were across the street in a vehicle. They were detained.


CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — The Charleston Police Department tells 13 News that a person was robbed in Charleston on Thursday.

Police say this happened near the intersection of Bigley Ave. and Washington St. W. around 7:15 p.m.

They say they do not have a suspect at this time.

The Charleston Police Department is on the scene.
