UPDATE (2:32 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1): Yvonne Barry, 65, of Charleston, is the woman who was hit and killed on the west side of Charleston Friday morning, the Charleston Police Department said.
Barry was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No charges are expected to be filed.
UPDATE (1:48 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1): The woman who was hit by a vehicle on the west side of Charleston Friday morning has died, the Charleston Police Department said.
The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — A woman is in the hospital Friday morning after being hit by a vehicle on the west side of Charleston.
Metro 911 officials say this happened just after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Park and Central Avenue.
The Charleston Police Department says the woman has “significant injuries.”
Dispatchers say the intersection is closed.
The Charleston Police and Fire Departments and EMS are responding.
