FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) – A new phone scam involving the European country Lithuania is beginning to impact people across West Virginia.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department issued a warning that if you receive a call from Lithuania, do not answer or call it back.

Deputies say that doing so may result in a very expensive phone bill, which they say is reportedly part of the scam.

According to deputies, besides not answering, if you get one of these calls, you should block the number.
