Strong storms and heavy rainfall are striking the region Sunday afternoon and evening, causing damage and high water to parts of the region.

A storm that prompted a tornado warning briefly in Kanawha County caused a large tree to fall along Rocky Fork Road near Cross Lanes.

High water has been reported in the Johns Creek and Newmans Branch areas of eastern Cabell County, prompting those roads.

Numerous flood watches and warnings have been posted for our region, some of which last through Monday evening.

We have crews at multiple locations bring you the latest to this developing story.
