Study: West Virginia is 5th most stressed state in country

West Virginia

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WDVM) – According to a 2019 Wallet Hub Study, West Virginia is the fifth highest on the list for most stressed states in the country. Its neighbor, Maryland, ranks almost at the bottom at 39.

Local West Virginia residents were not surprised by the study claiming there are not enough jobs in some parts of the state.

Psychologist Michael Gray says that some of the factors that are affecting West Virginians are diet, attachment to personal gain, and lack of spirituality.

Another West Virginia local Jeanette Allen agreed with Gray and said that the secret to being less stressed was,” exercise and prayer.”

Some people think perhaps Maryland residents are getting a lot of exercise and prayer — since they are ranked as one of the least stressed states.
