West Virginia

West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Allen Loughry has been found guilty in federal court.

Loughry was found guilty on 11 charges, not guilty on 10 charges, and the jury was hung on one count.

These charges stem from an investigation into lavish Supreme Court spending including more than $300,000 worth of renovations made to Loughry’s office, his use of state-owned furniture for a home office, his personal use of state vehicles and gas purchasing cards, and lying to federal officials.

Jury deliberation began Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 and ran through Friday, October 12th, 2018.

The jury made up of ten women and two men saw lots of evidence and heard lots of testimonies throughout the trial and ultimately they decided it was enough to find Loughry guilty on 11 Charges.
